Jim Thorpe Night Text
Shawnee Public Schools is excited to host Jim Thorpe Night during the Shawnee Wolves football game on Friday, September 27th, at Jim Thorpe Stadium. The event, honoring the legendary Jim Thorpe, will also celebrate native heritage and traditions. The Wolves will face Tulsa East Central, with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 PM.

The evening’s events will begin with the unveiling of a Jim Thorpe mural by renowned native artist Nicholas Blanchard at 6:15 PM, followed by a recognition ceremony at 6:45 PM to honor our local tribes. During halftime, the Wolf Spirit Dancers will perform a special tribute, adding to the celebration of native culture.

Before the game, fans can enjoy a tailgate sponsored by First United Bank, with all proceeds benefiting the Shawnee High School Athletic Department. Indian tacos will be available for sale throughout the game as a fundraiser for the Indian Education Department.

Join us for an evening of football, culture, and community as we celebrate the legacy of Jim Thorpe and honor the rich traditions of our local tribes. Elementary students will receive free entry to the game when accompanied by a paid adult.
