Dear Shawnee Public Schools Families,
We want to make you aware of some weather safety practices our schools are now following.
Based on recommendations from the Oklahoma State Department of Health, we will have indoor recess when the temperature or heat index is 100 degrees or higher or 32 degrees or below at the time of recess.
For outdoor athletic activities, our coaches will follow OSSAA weather safety guidelines.
Student and staff safety is always our top priority. We will continually review our processes and procedures to ensure Shawnee Public Schools is a safe and secure environment for your child. If you have any questions about these safety practices, please contact your child’s school principal or coach.
