Shawnee Public Schools is proud to announce the completion of a significant infrastructure upgrade: the installation of a new freezer for the district’s Child Nutrition program. This essential improvement was made possible thanks to the community’s support in passing the April 2024 bond issue.

The new freezer will enable the district to purchase food in bulk, resulting in greater cost efficiency and more effective long-term menu planning. This investment reflects Shawnee Public Schools’ commitment to operational excellence and to ensuring all students have consistent access to well-prepared, nutritious meals.

“This upgrade is a game-changer for our Child Nutrition program,” said Julie Jesseph, Director of Child Nutrition. “Not only will it help us save costs and allow us to plan better, but most importantly, it ensures our students receive the healthy meals they need to thrive in and out of the classroom.”

The new freezer installation is just one example of how the April 2024 bond is shaping the future of Shawnee Public Schools, enabling critical enhancements across the district to better serve students and staff.

Shawnee Public Schools extends heartfelt gratitude to the community for its unwavering support and investment in the success and wellness of its students. “Thank you for voting YES for the future of Shawnee Public Schools,” Jesseph added. “Together, we are building a stronger foundation for our students’ success.”
