Seniors from Shawnee High School and Jim Thorpe Academy took a significant step toward their futures during the annual My Future’s Bright Senior Conference. This event offered an inspiring and practical day of learning designed to prepare students for success in their next chapter of life.

The conference featured a wide variety of sessions tailored to equip seniors with essential life skills and tools for success. Students attended workshops on: health and wellness, recognizing red flags in relationships, self-defense, basic car car, managing taxes and creating budgets, crafting resumes, dressing for success, and more.

A highlight of the day was the College and Career Showcase, where students explored opportunities and connected with local organizations to chart their paths forward.

The keynote address was delivered by Jill Spencer, Chair of the Avedis Foundation Board and Senior Vice President at First United Bank Tecumseh. Her inspiring message encouraged students to dream big, set ambitious goals, and believe in their ability to create a bright future.

"This conference was all about equipping and inspiring our students as they prepare to step confidently into adulthood," said Michelle Wallace, Director of Counseling and Community Engagement. "We are so proud of their engagement and the support from our community to make this event impactful."

The success of the conference was made possible thanks to generous contributions from community partners:
