Nursing Health Services

Knowing that children who are healthy are ready to learn, Shawnee Public Schools works to support families and their students with tools for better health. Every Shawnee school site has a nurse or health aide on staff to follow every student's health plan and to administer first aid if needed.

Shawnee Public Schools and TEAM Clinics have formed a nationally-recognized partnership to provide remote medical visits by healthcare providers for students and SPS staff while at school. With the use of telemedicine technology, the TEAM Clinics provider can assess the student's medical needs and help them feel better sooner. Through TEAM Clinics, we can test for strep, flu, RSV and Covid-19Often, students who visit a healthcare provider through TEAM Clinics do not have to be absent from school to take care of basic healthcare needs.

For more information or to opt in to care from TEAM Clinics, visit the TEAM Clinics site or contact La Rita Haffey, MSN, BSN, RN,district nurse health coordinator.
