At Shawnee High School, students can choose from a large number of clubs, extracurricular activities, and sports. Every student can find a place to belong, learn, and grow.

The team provides students with opportunities to deepen their knowledge in various subjects like math, science, literature, and history. It helps students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and quick recall skills.

The purpose of the art club is to create visual art for personal and school goals, to work collaboratively and independently on art projects and serve the community through creativity.

Botany Club

The club encourages students and members to develop a fascination with plants and plant science. It provides a platform to explore topics like plant biology, ecology, and horticulture.

The Shawnee High School Color Guard is committed to providing a dynamic and enriching experience that blends artistic expression with physical discipline. Our mission is to inspire students to achieve excellence through the integration of dance, flag work, and theatrical performance. We aim to create a supportive and collaborative environment where each member can develop their skills, build confidence, and contribute to a unified and impactful visual performance. By embracing creativity, dedication, and teamwork, we seek to elevate the artistry of the color guard while fostering personal growth and a lifelong passion for the performing arts.

Our mission is to cultivate a vibrant and inclusive environment where students explore the rich traditions of jazz while developing their individual artistry and ensemble skills. Through rigorous practice, spirited performances, and a commitment to excellence, we aim to inspire personal growth, teamwork, and a deep appreciation for the art form. By challenging ourselves and each other to continuously improve, we strive to elevate the collective potential of the band and pave the way for lifelong musical and personal success.

The focus is to build strong moral character and academic excellence by promoting personal responsibility, community involvement and positive mentorships within the school district as well as the community at large.

Marching Band

The “Pride of the Pack” Marching Band is devoted to delivering a premier musical and performance experience that unites students through the artistry of marching and music. Our mission is to cultivate a disciplined and enthusiastic environment where students excel in their musical skills, marching precision, and creative expression. By emphasizing teamwork, perseverance, and artistic excellence, we strive to push the boundaries of our collective potential and achieve outstanding performances. Through rigorous practice and unwavering dedication, we aim to foster personal growth, instill pride, and nurture a lifelong love for the marching arts.

Meteorology Club

The club encourages students and members to explore and develop a fascination with weather patterns, climate science, and meteorological phenomena.

Mock Trial

Members learn about the legal process, courtroom procedures, and the roles of various participants in a trial, such as judges, attorneys, and witnesses. This provides insight into how the legal system functions.

National Honor Society

Robotics Team

Robotics provides hands-on experiences in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Students learn about robotics, coding, electronics, and mechanical design which aim to prepare students for future academic and professional challenges while fostering a love for learning and innovation.

Speech/Debate Team

Members enhance their public speaking abilities, learning how to articulate ideas clearly, persuasively, and confidently. This includes mastering rhetoric, effective body language, and vocal modulation.

Student Council

Student Council is a group of leaders who promote school spirit and empower fellow students by using peer input to plan student body events so the school may grow in a positive way.

The Writer's Block

The club provides a space where writers can connect with others who share their passion for writing. It creates a supportive environment where members can share their work, offer feedback, and encourage each other.

The purpose of the Hi-Y and Tri-Hi-Y clubs were to: "Create, Maintain, and Extend to the fullest capacity of one’s ability, throughout the home, school and community, High Standards of Moral Character through improvement, brother/sisterhood, equality, and service in High Schools."

We encourage our students to become lifelong singers by consistently encouraging our students to give their personal and collective best. Students will continually “raise the bar,” maximizing the total potential of the group and achieving lifelong success.
